Have multiple feeds all over the place?
Maybe you use Firefox, Thunderbird or some other solution to aggregate feeds about your interests. It can get complicated.
In the world of SEO, or anything online for that matter, keeping up to date is super important. If your client starts talking about meta keyword tags and their relevance with the search engines, then you should know you shizl.
How to keep up
I like watching new design trends with WordPress, things new in the development world, freelance articles and such.
Mainly I use Thunderbird to aggregate the various feeds
Looks something like this:
This way, anytime there is a new feed in Smashing Magazine or some other website, visually I can see who has updated recently.
Saves me from visiting all the sites.
In comes Yahoo Pipes
This service has been around for a while and have used it in the past.
It is here … Yahoo Pipes
An all-in-one RSS (data, CSV, XML + more) aggregator with RSS output if required.
More and more, companies are worried about their online reputation; what’s been written about them, who’s posting about them and such.
To keep on top of all the searches, twitter posts, blogs and press releases, why not try to automate the task.
Won’t try to explain the concept here, kind busy thanks.
But to see where the recent inspiration came from, I reference Ann Smarty’s post about creating your own keyword tracking master feed.
Time consuming to set up, can get sidetracked yes, but overall, automating a system for keeping on top of things is always rated excellent.
